if you think...#4

After that quick lunch-out we had, I am supposed to be studying today and completing my homework due tomorrow. However, I spent most of the afternoon helping out hubby's Aunt trying to figure out what her mortgage lenders was asking from her. We came up with this formal letter seeking clarifications. I'm glad were done with it, I can now proceed to the completion of my homework. But first, here's the 4th of my if you think... series. I'm halfway done as there are 4 more left.

No matter how hard my course is now, I will stop whining for this kid's sake. I will. I promise. To the rest of the kiddos, don't cut classes and don't waste time. Be inspired by her.

IF YOU THINK STUDY IS A BURDEN, HOW ABOUT HER?

decided.

After gruelling 5 hours since 11pm last night, here I am wide awake finishing off some blogging tasks. The math problems were really really hard and if hubby wasn't here, I don't think I'd be able to complete my 1st homework. As a price, hubby told me that he will get me one of those pretty glasses from zennioptical.com. I have decided on this red with tiny flower details instead of the pink one, what do you think?

on the other hand...

This is a sequel entry to the Zenni for Him entry. (sounds redundant? eh!)

Come to think of it, it is I who badly need new glasses from zennioptical.com. With all the late night reading because of my online class and blogging on the side, my vision has turned from bad to worse and I don't want it to be worst! I think I should be the one shopping for corrective glasses before it's too late. I like this pink one. What do you think?

I am currently swamped with a lot of tasks, both in the school and in blogging. My two 20-paged research papers are not going along well, I am running out of time, I am definitely cramming. While finding more web sources for my research papers, I chanced upon this Technology Channel at Business.com. It provided me with a lot of news and views on business technology, office technology and some business technology product reviews.

I am making a lot of notes now and took about an hour getting some information on this particular site. I was happy because one of my research papers involve developing the business technology aspect of a particular business assigned to me. I learned about business technology terms such as audio visual, busines phones, computer accessories, computers, email, IT services, networking, office machines, power supplies and voice over the internet phone. It was an hour not wasted, you should visit it too.

bubbly reads

I have always been vocal that as a child my love for books is very limited. I don't know why, Maybe, I was more oriented into the practical side of growing up. More toys and more play. In highschool, I begun to love reading love novels but still, I cannot consider myself as a bookworm. It is only now that I am catching up on my being a bookworm. I would love to spend more time in the bookstore and spend a big chunk of my shopping money for books. I just hope my son does not inherit this trait that is why as early as now, I am introducing and showering him with as many books as he can possibly have.

I never imagined graduate studies will be this taxing and overwhelming. It requires you to do a lot of formal case study write-ups. It is so much different with just writing in my blogs as other than the research part, you are required to follow a certain writing style. So, I really give kudos to those who passed or have completed their phd thesis writing. Because, I could certainly say that a dissertation phd writing or writing a phd dissertation is triple hardwork as compared to graduate and undergraduate studies. Bu then again, furthering one's education is a stepping stone to one's long-term success.

So far, I still have 10 tasks to accomplish, 14 chapters of book to read and 2 midterms exam to take before Thursday. I have been having a hardtime managing my time lately which makes me bump into my favorite site: http://ehow.com/. I was so good with time management before but I don't seem to know what is happening to me lately. Probably because, I have more activities than the available 24 hours per day. I always wish for many hands and 24 more hours a day but I know that is impossible. So here are the tips I snagged from ehow.com: (#8 is very applicable to me.) Hope this helps everyone who is struggling with time management.

Things You’ll Need:
Address Books
Palm Handheld Organizers
Wall Calendars
Personal Organizers
Schedule Management Software

Step1Create a schedule or to-do list. Write down deadlines for accomplishing certain tasks.

Step2Plan to tackle difficult projects at the times of day when you are most alert.

Step3Schedule time for people, including yourself. Create some personal time by waking up half an hour earlier or going to bed half an hour later than usual; plan a weekly date with your spouse, or arrange to have lunch with friends.

Step4Prioritize what you need to accomplish. "Pareto's principle" states that 80 percent of your accomplishments come from 20 percent of your efforts, so think strategically: Locate and isolate this valuable 20 percent, then focus your efforts on the tasks that promise the greatest rewards.

Step5Delegate as many chores as you can. Hand out projects to subordinates at work, recruit your children to help with household chores, hire a gardener to maintain your lawn.

Step6Learn to say no to nonessential demands on your time. Don't volunteer for a committee if you don't have time, and decline invitations to events you don't have time to attend.

Step7Overcome procrastination.

Step8Avoid perfectionism. Don't waste time obsessively perfecting a task when you could better spend the time on something else.

i need one. urgently.

Because of my prolong computer usage, I think I might need some new eyeglasses. In the class, you would find me sitting in the front row not because I want my professor to notice me but because, I cannot see clearly what the professor is writing if I would be sitted 3 or more rows away from him or her. I refused to wear my contact lens as I am not really comfortable wearing them. So, I guess this calls for some online glasses shopping.

HOW to write a resume

Hubby and I have been constantly editing and re-editing resumes of our Aunts and Uncles. For some reasons, they think of us as professional writers of resume templates. I do not know where they get that but so far we are grateful of being of help for them. Do you notice that curriculum vitae and resumes are ever-changing? I noticed that, almost every year employer changes what they want to read in every resume and what template makes it readable for them. Resumes make or break your next step to the job interview, so be armed with the proper template when making one.

say what? say APA!

Oh Gosh! I am so sorry for unblogging for 3 days. I promised myself to give this blog an equal and fair treatment as the rest of my 2 other blogs which I have been blogging more than 1x a day. Anyways, things got really busy in school. A big paper was assigned for me to write about Polaroid Camera's innovation in the digital age. I haven't really had a hard time gathering information, but what quirks me off is writing it in APA STYLE. What's that? read here: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/workshops/hypertext/apa/index.html. From where I came from, we really didn't follow any writing style as long as you write it cohesively and with good grammar and spelling, you are fine. It was really nerve wracking for me to follow a certain style, I was looking at the pocketguide every single sentence I write on it. Thanks God, I have accomplished the 7-paged paper and I hope get As! Anyways, my blogging is back to full swing again so I shall be seeing everyone.
