bubble switches

I find it annoying when a certain switch at home is not working. Either it be a level switch, temperature switch or flow switch. I thought I was the worst when it comes to dealing with household switches mishaps but you should see hubby's Uncle turning into a monster.

It was a good thing that he discovered Compac.com. Eversince this discovery he was not whining and complaining on where he can get reliable and inexpensive solutions for all his control and switch problems. All the switches available here are reusable and repairable. Check it out if you need one.

on twister and bubbles

The current disaster that happened in Suffolk, Virginia, which is actually just 20 minutes away from where we are staying gave a shock to every homeowner. Just imagine your beloved house whom you invest so much emotionally and financially have been swept away by a twister in an instant. Oh my, if that happened to me, I would go crazy. I wonder if the owner of the specific house which was completely ruined by the twister has comprehensive insurance which covers uncommon calamities such as twister. This reminds everyone of us to take homeowner insurance seriously and choose the best we have rather than just grabbing what is infront of us. It is very important to canvass every home or housing insurance, study the benefits and rates before making the big decision. Afterall, we all want security on our homes whom we spent so much sweat, tears and money for. No wonder a lot do not invest on homes these days as buying a house comes with great responsibilities too. Some would rather keep everything liquid and invest on stocks. Others would choose on spending on luxury cars and others would have the luxury of travelling. What are your choices of investments?

an ode to our stressful life

Okay okay, I know this is a bit of a rant entry again. But, I just can't help but rant from the stressful and busy life that hubby and I have. We have been running so many errands here and there not to mention our son’s birthday celebration. It’s hard when you have to do everything on your own, no help, no support at all, as in nadah!. Truly, life here is 360 degrees different from where we came from. I don't know when we will we ever be full adjusted. I often tell hubby how I would love for us to live in a Hotel for 2 straight days and just laze around there for straight 48 hours! I know that itself will be rejuvenating. But he has other things in mind, he said that we might as well spend that straight 24 hours in a Hotel Venice, Hotel Florence or a Rome apartment! Hahaha! For now, I guess that is so far from happening but that would be really a perfect vacation of both us. When will that be? I still don't know. For now, all we have to do is keep our ass moving on and on.

far out art

LOOK at these amazing beds, I saw them at this site: http://faroutart.com. Check them out for the most unique and coolest furnitures you'll ever see!

memory upgrade

My personal computer back home is by far the most overused PC I know. I was such a heavy user! At first, my brother installed a 2GB Memory Upgrade then a 4GB Memory then finally a PC3200 DDR400 SDRAM Upgrade. He even bought me a portable HDD with extra memory. He advised me to delete some pictures I don't need but I really can't decide which to take away. He gets memory upgrades from Memory deal. This specializes in genuine factory original modules at very affordable rates. He said that he gets upgrade from this site because the module is the same quality grade that top OEMs like HP, IBM and Dell specify. They also sell the latest technology from Samsung, Hynix, Qimonda, Micron, Elpida and Nanya. Memory deal uses genuine factory original memory modules built by the DRAM manufacturers. So far, according to my brother, this is the online shop that gives him the best deals on RAM. He is an information technology majoy so I guess he knows best. Now, that I have my own laptop, I wonder how's my old Personal Computer back home which my mom uses. I hope all the upgrades were worth it hee!

perfect for camwhores

As you all know by now, if you have been paying attention to my blog that I am a major photo freak and camwhore all rolled into 1! I don't post photos here in this blog but if you know and frequent my 2 other blogs, they could classify as photoblogs hee! While looking for software that could enhance some of my photos while editing them, I have read about duplicate image and duplicate image finder perse. It is a free software that anyone can download from this site: http://www.bolidesoft.com/imagecomparer.html. This is really awesome because it will scan, analyze and locate all your entire photo collection and find similar or look-alike photos. It will also highlight the image differences. I better try this one soon!

Travel Destination #4-CORFU, GREECE

This weekend's travel destination series #4, let me take you the the topical and most unique Greek Island of Corfu. Lately, I have been frequenting this site for some nice and exciting getaway in Greece:FantasticGreece.com. It was only last week when I chanced upon that site, I discovered that there are a lot of beautiful Greek Islands to explore.

Particularly, Corfu Greece is unique since it lies off the west coast of the mainland, Ionian Sea. It is also a historical island as it has connection with the Greek mythology having been the site for many battles. You can laze around undet the Green summer heat or go around the several museums in Corfu.

don't forget this!

This is one of the reasons why I hate responsibilities especially when dealing with cars. I really don't like being behind the wheels but it irks me sometime that I have to depend on someone to drive me and my son around especially when we need to run some errands or when my son gets bored at home and is starting to throw major loud tantrums. In the place where I am staying, there are not much of public utility vehicles so I have no choice but to awaken my driving skills and knowledge sooner than expected. I should take that driving licensure exams soon. Hubby, on the other hand is taking care of the purchasing of my own car, and nope I am not to get a brand new car. I wouldn't even trust myself to drive a brand new car. More than buying itself, he is also looking at getting the most comprehensive car insurance anticipating my future hits and bumps in the gutters, trees and what-have-yous ahahah! Although, I hope I wouldn't meet any of those little car accidents of any type. Gosh! This driving soon is really freaking me out. But like I always say to myself, I gotta do what I need to do, so just wish me luck!

giving up on me?

Yes, this entry is dedicated to my beloved PC! i think it is finally giving up on my heavy usage and heavily stored photos. My brother said I should change the ram or Random Access Memory or increase it to make my PC performance better and faster. I don't know anything about the insides of my PC but I guess I have to have this checked before it finally conked out on me. Yay!

bubble beds

I was tasked by hubby to look for a couple of platform beds for our apartment's guest room. Instead of looking for one, as usual my eyes wander on some other types of beds. Look at this adjustable bed that can flex whatever way you want to and this memory foam mattress that is so affordable. I guess the adjustable bed is perfect for any type of guest room. Looking for beds too? Snagged all these from bedinabox.com.

unique furnitures for my mind bubbles

It's Wednesday, my hectic study scheduled day of the week. In a few hours, I'll be swamped with books for my Graduate Studies courses. Let me just dream some more before I log out and read endlessly. As you all know, both me and my husband are passionate when it comes to interior decorating. I have gathered here some unique furnitures I would want to have in our dream home:

This CD rack is a must, snagged from this site: www.easterncorner.com/furniture.htm. This Ipod chair back for a music addict like me and hubby in black and white would be totally gorgeous! www.hemmy.net/category/cool-stuffs/.

This livingstone couch will fool our guests that it ain't a soft spot to sit in LOL!
www.ohgizmo.com/.../26/livingstones-furniture/.
and this recycled bread container and DIY jewel CD chandelier are worth to drool for!--> www.freshairtimes.eu/tag/recycled-stuff/.
Now, back to my books. See yah later.

busses for my bubbly life

Since I just talked about automobiles, let me share with you my fascination on buses. Here's a little trivia about me, I want to own my own customized bus for my whole clan! Like that Ford El Dorado bus for sale at carpenterbus.com. That would be so much fun! We don't have to worry how many cars we will have to bring in our next out-of-trip and we could enjoy the chatting while travelling in a single ride. It was surprising to know that renting a bus at least once a month in a year will come out to be more expensive than buying your own bus. Hmmm, let me put that in my wishlist: A BUS!

vertical bubbly doors

Have you ever met someone who is so passionate about cars that he sleeps, breathes and thinks about cars 24/7??? My friend is! And he just told me that he is about to purchase this Ford grill for his Ford Escape. Hubby and I would really want a Ford for a car but as they say that Ford cars eat up a lot of gas. But, for this friend of ours, money or gas was never an issue, as long as he wants something he'll get it. I say that for make-ups too hee!

S-T-O-P now!

While studying in between blogging and checking on some emails, hubby has to stopped me with a very sad news. Apparently, one of our friends is checking on some rehabs facilities in town. He admitted that he has succumbed into drugs after his wife filed the divorce. But, this addiction has gotten worst and he is asking for our support in this time. I am both sad and proud for him, sad because he has to undergo this ordeal and proud because he realized early on that he needs help. This entry is for you, you'd always find a friend in us no matter what.

our favorite nook

Watching DVDs or simply resting on your couches are probably one of the best way to relax and release the stress you acquired for the day. Hubby and I are DVD addicts. Our weekends are spent most of time in the family room, finishing DVDs while attending to our son. However, his ultimate dream is to be able to have a complete home theatre set with those home theater sconces shown above. Oh boy, when that time comes, I don't think you'd see us driving around or strolling in the mall. We will all be locked up in our living room enjoying the luxury of a home theatre.

Project #2 - bubbly flabby (finding some alternatives)

Guess what? I don't think I could survive my 1 cup of rice a day and 1x a meal a day. It's just been 3 days since I started this project and I have become very irritable because of my planned diet. It's really bad as my attitude towards my son has also been affected. I am thinking of taking the best diet pills available to assist me in this project. Has anyone of you tried taking these alternatives?

still...nadah!

I am beginning to freak out and maybe turn into a crazy woman. We still haven't found an apartment!!! I am beginning to lose hope. We have targetted May 15 for our big move and yet it's almost May, still nadah! The worst thing is that a part of the money intended for our move has been used for senseless things. Sigh. We need to found one soon! Lord help us!

out of randomness

I just need to vent this out. I woke up from a short nap a while ago with a heavy heart. I had a dream which reminded me how angry I was when a brother in law who is a drug addict stole my husband's gun under the care of a very irresponsible sister-in-law. It was bad because I had to deal with the legalities as my husband was overseas at that time. I really hate drug addicts, I have always been telling my friends who have relatives that are addicts that help should start from them. They should take that big leap and start checking them in a drug rehabilitation center before it's too late.

household parts

Sometimes it irks me when I can't do anything with regards to fixing some appliance at home or as simple as replacing a lost door bracket. I have to wait for a man to fix it for me and it's irritating when I want things done at once. Thanks goodness to Maytag Parts which a stay-at-home mom friend told me. She usually has some spare parts for specific household appliance in stock. She gets them from Partselect.com. This site offers over a million of parts online. You can make your search by their Model or Part number. You'll instantly know whether the part is on stock or out of stock. Definitely, the prices are competitive as compared to the ones found in stores. I'm lucky that my husband is one handy man. He knows how to repair and fix parts in major household appliances. As soon, as he learned of this site, he gave me a list of important parts to buy so we could order it at once and so when we need them, they're just readily available anytime. As soon as we get our orders, I am off to learn from my handyman how to replace these parts.

skin bumps, skin bubbles

One of my greatest assets is my fair smooth skin. It runs in our genes. I really never had any skin problems and I can sleep with make-up on and still waking up with zero acne. However, when I moved here from a tropical country, I started to get bumps and rashes in one of my lower cheeks down to my jawline probably the change in climate has greatly contributed to it. The 1st time I arrived in California, I have sun-kissed hair and skin. My hair was so shiny, my skin was glowing. When we moved to the east coast, that's where the story of dryness began. No matter how many lotions and moisturizers I put. it's just not enough. Though, I'm still thankful that it's all rashes and bumps and not acne as I cannot afford the best acne treatment with our current budget.

blogging can ruin one's life #2

Here's another interesting article to think of before you start posting that blog entry of yours:

Yes, blogs can ruin your life
By Pam Pastor
Philippine Daily Inquirer

MANILA, Philippines—The Internet-savvy should think of the past few weeks as more than just a hate fest and a gossip buffet. It is a wake-up call—and a testament to the true powers of blogging.

After countless names have been thrown around the World Wide Web and smeared with nastiness, many have expressed fear about people blogging about them.

But the truth is, you should be concerned not only with what others post about you. You should also be careful about what you post about yourself.

Blog backfire

Twenty-two-year-old Lisa called in sick one Friday afternoon. But she wasn’t really sick. She was planning to start the weekend early by going to the beach with her friends. Days later, she posted pictures of the outing on her blog. Someone in her office found the link. Soon, she was called to her boss’ office. She didn’t lose her job, but she got into a lot of trouble.

Eighteen-year-old Anne enjoys an independent life. Both parents are in the US. She blogged freely about her misadventures—drunken nights out, failed tests, her penchant for bad boys. She thought her blog was being read only by her friends.

But a concerned relative sent the link to her parents who immediately jumped to action, calling Anne up and threatening to fly her to the US where she could be put under their watch. Anne is still in the country but has deleted her blog.

The two girls have experienced blog backfire. Things they posted online ended up working against them.

Make sure it doesn’t happen to you, too. Here are some things to think about when you blog.

1. You don’t know who is reading your page.

Unless your entries are locked and you have total control over who has access to them, you’re never sure who is reading your entries. Your parents, your teachers—they’re all just a google search away from unlocking your deepest thoughts.

2. What you post can make or break your career.

While some people have gotten book deals after building a huge blog readership, most bloggers need to realize that employers have started using Google searches as a tool to scan job applicants.

3. Will your post hurt anyone?

It is easy to vent online your anger with a friend or a family member. But let the anger simmer before hitting the “publish” button. Sleep on it, think it over because once it’s online, it will not be easy to get rid of—not with the cache features of online searches.

4. Can your entries be lifted and used against you?

Your blog entries may be lifted anytime by anyone who knows how to highlight and press Ctrl and C. Your photos may be stolen as easily and defaced, like some have been on gossip blogs. It may be smart to add javascript that prevents readers from right-clicking on your page. It’s not total protection, but it may save you from the less-techie lurkers.

5. Will your entries attract the wrong kind of people?

Most blog readers are kind. They leave comments, they send you e-mails and sometimes, you even find people you can be friends with. But some of the more popular bloggers have had problems with blog stalkers. High internet traffic is a good thing, but not when it leads to scary encounters.

coupon destinations

As you all know by now, I am such an online shopaholic mom. Eversince I got here in America, I discovered the power of online shopping. It is the most convenient thing that was invented with regards to shopping. It saves you time and gas for your car. But, did you know that online coupons are very important when you go online shopping?

Savings.com will give you the best deals before you do your online shopping. Before visiting online shops of establishments such as Travelocity up to buying Ipods make sure to visit Savings.com and get coupon codes for big discounts and exclusive offers. Currently, they have the free shipping promo. I am gonna shop again in a little while but before I hit my favorite online shops, let me leave with you a simple reminder to check coupon codes before shopping online. Ciao!

mow the lawn the HONDA way

I am sooo LAME! I didn't know that Honda manufactures equipments and not just automobiles!!! So, imagine my surprise when I saw this Honda Lawnmower. It's weird but I have a big fascination on lawnmowers and loves mowing the lawn. Especially now that it's Springtime, I would love to see our front and backyards oh so green and clean. From the description of this lawnmower, it must be really good! It says, it's not just a lawnmower so read more: (snagged from their site)

Not Just Any Lawnmower
At Honda, we know that there is more to an exceptional mowing machine than a great engine, or a great deck or a great cutting system. That’s why we offer all of these things on our mowers, as well as the following technologies:

*Reliable four-stroke power
*Ability to stop the blade without shutting off the mower so you can empty the bag without having to restart the engine
*Exclusive twin-blade system that result in better mulching, increased bag capacity and tiny grass clippings that add nutrients to lawn
*Easy on and off grass bags
*Up to seven height adjustments to suit your individual mowing needs
*Ability to control the speed from the handlebars so you can walk at your own pace and still get an excellent cut
*Extremely durable Xenoy material that does not dent, rust or corrode over time
*Ultra low emissions. Our engines pass the toughest EPA and CARB emission standards

think teak, think bubbles

Okay, here I go again ranting about our apartment hunt. I can't believe this, we still haven't gotten one and it's almost May!!! Our bedroom here is constantly being loaded up with stuff for our future apartment and it is so freaking crowded! I would love to have those teak furniture but that would have to wait for the real apartment. I love teak woods, I got it from my mom. We have a lot of teakwood furnitures back home. For now, I will go online window shopping at thosbaker.com for more teak furnitures! Come and shop with me.

starting all over again

What's hard about this migration thing is that you have to start from everything all over again. Which means, you have to establish credit standing again by opening up a savings account, applying for credit cards, loans for your car and homes. Well, it is both fun and challenging but we should always wary with what kind of savings account we open before grabbing one. There are only 2 biggest factors you have to check before you open up those bank accounts and trust the bank with your hard-earned money: the interest rates and the bank charges. Put that in mind.

gadgets what-have-yous

I am a photo freak or photo whore, whatever you want to call me. I have every gadget needed to take some beautiful pictures but I am still dreaming of owning a digital SLR. Soon, I hope. However, I am having a hard time uploading some pictures because I have lost my SD card reader. A friend said, I could buy a multi SD card reader that do the wonders. I think I am getting one of those soon and will start sharing photos in this blog.

advanced calculations

And so I am making myself busy again to let go of all the homesickness I have been feeling. Hubby's aunt is looking for some budget software that will do advanced calculations for her business. Some of the branches are closing down because of very poor management. She is the only one looking after the family's corporation and she thought that making the accounting system centralized so it can be easily monitored. I think she's making a good decision by moving up higher in terms of data collaboration, after all, what are technologies for if we're not there to use them.

it's sooo freaking hot!

Today must be the hottest day of Spring ever! With 95 degrees fahrenheit, my oh my! We haven't turned on the centralized aircon yet and there are no ceiling fans nor stand fans available in this house. I wonder why though as centralized aircons can eat up a big chunk in your budget. At least if there were ceiling fans, we could alternately use it with the centralized aircon.

So, this is a good reason for some online shopping and this time I am in a search for some efficient and beautifully-designed ceiling fans. I found these casablanca fans and craftmade fans from Farreys.com. Actually, there are a thousands of unique ceiling fans to shop for but these 2 really got my eye. I can't wait to purchase one of these for our bedroom and beat those heat!

bubbly trade shows

I miss the days when I used to work for an environmental NGO and we used to put up trade show displays for our campaigns and advocacies. We would do everything from scratch, from making the truss, banner stands and trade shows what-have-yous. We have so little funds before that we cannot hire extra help for these types of advocacies. But the end of every trade show, we are rewarded by the fact that our public cause was somehow addressed through the trade show. However, it would be much easier for an NGO staff to hire extra help or a CamelBack Display exhibit service. The NGO trade shows would look more creative and attractive if the exhibit fixtures, displays, tables and banners were made by professionals.

Sometimes, I still get confused on what career path I would take but more likely it would be on the development field. No matter how tiring it takes to being on a public service or development field, it is still very rewarding at the end. I just hope a lot would support every NGO advocacies as these are humanitarian causes and causes that will uplift our global mission in life.

Travel Destination #2-SPAIN

I know what they say about Spain, that everything is really cheap. The food, the entrance fees etc... including the hotels. If you are going to Spain definitely, stay in any of these hotels: Cheap Spain Hotels, Cheap Alicante Hotels, Cheap Madrid Hotels, Cheap Hotels in Barcelona and Cheap Costa Del Sol Hotels. Spain is probably in my #10 travel dream destination goal.

This country is known for gorgeous women and men. And also they are known for nightlife! Let me share this very interesting trivia about my chinese-looking friend. She has been saving up for a Spanish tour. You know why? Because our Spanish friend told her that her chinky-eyed beauty is bankable in Spain. They find chinese-looking or mestiza/chinita women very exotic and beautiful. She really can't wait to go there as you know she is very much single and currently finding her THE ONE! I just hope when she visits Spain, I can tag along.

Travel Destination #1-AUSTRALIA

I am starting this series in my blog about all the travel dream destinations I would want to go to and bring my family with. Travelling for me is a luxury. It is definitely an enriching investment. Especially if you bring your kids with you, they will definitely learn so much about the country, it's culture and people.
One of my dream destinations is Australia. I have been constantly reminded by my Aussie friends to visit them anytime soon. They both have very chic flats but of course if I bring with me my son and hubby, it is better if we stay in one of those great and very cheap Sydney Hotels, Melbourne Hotels, Brisbane Hotels or Perth Hotels. They say there are a lot great places to visit in Australia. A friend even told me that the marines there are so diverse, so maybe I could do some scubadiving on the side. Oh Australia! I can't wait to sat my foot on your land but for now I just have to focus on our priorities and work hard for all these dream destinations.
e a lot of

the bubbly blog

A lot of my friends are in so much awe about how passionate I am on blogging. They know I maintain 3 other blogs, this being the 4th. I just love it, you can share anything and it's so nice to hear comments from readers that they will surely comeback to your site because they are learning so much from it. It is easy to blog, especially if you find writing very therapeutic release to your stressful day. So far, this is the most cohesive and very basic tips on how to blog and I want to share it to everyone:

How to Start a Blog (http://michaelhyatt.blogs.com/workingsmart/2005/04/how_to_start_a_.html)
After reading my new blog, a number of Nelson employees have told me they intend to start their own blog. Several have written to me, asking how to get started. So, rather than continuing to repeat myself, I will outline the process here. It’s actually easier than you may think.
Determine a theme. Most bloggers take one of three approaches. Some write on whatever happens to interest them at the moment. In this sense, their blog is truly a “web journal.” Others, select a single theme and stick to it. Frankly, this takes a lot of discipline. Still others, like me, focus on a primary theme but occasionally deviate from it. If you want to develop a following of loyal readers, I think the latter two approaches are best. People who have similar interests will keep coming back for more.

Select a service. I use TypePad.com. My daughters use Xanga.com. These are only a few of scores of services available. Some of these are free, such as Blogger.com, LiveJournal.com, Blog-City.com, and MSN Spaces (also Xanga.com). Others charge a nominal fee. Examples include SquareSpace.com, BlogIdentity.com, and Bubbler.com (also TypePad.com). However, even the fee-based services usually offer a 30- to 60-day free trial. Why do I use TypePad.com? Because I think it offers the best balance of power, customizability, and ease-of-use. Your mileage may vary.

Set up your blog. Most of the blogging services I have looked at make this a very simple process. Don’t be put off because it sounds technical. It usually isn’t. You won’t need to become a geek. However, you will have to make some decisions about how you want your blog to look. You’ll have to decide on a “theme,” meaning the colors, number of columns, and the overall look and feel of your blog. You may want to include your picture. If so, you’ll need a digital copy. Regardless, this is something you can tweak as you go.

Write your first post. Okay, now you’re ready to create your first post. If you haven’t done a lot of writing, this may prove to be the most difficult part. If you don’t have a lot of experience, keep your posts short. Develop momentum. Get the hang of it. Stick to what you know. You probably take for granted the fact that you have a great deal of specialized information that others will find helpful—possibly even fascinating. If you don’t know where else to start, begin with a “Welcome to My Blog” post. Tell your prospective readers why you have started your blog and what kinds of things you intend to write about.
Consider using an offline blogging client. This isn’t a necessity but it will make blogging much easier. An offline blogging client is like a word processor for blogging. It enables you to write when you’re not online and then upload your post when you connect to the Internet. The two most popular are BlogJet and ecto (yes, the lowercase “e” is part of the branding). BlogJet is my favorite, but it’s not available for the Mac. ecto is available on both Windows and Mac platforms. You can try both programs before you buy.
Add the bells and whistles. Most blogs allow you to post the books you are reading, albums you enjoy, and various other lists. TypePad is especially adept at this. You can also incorporate third-party services like Bloglet. This enables your readers to subscribe to your site and receive an e-mail whenever you post a new entry. The best way to get an idea of what is available is to read other people’s blogs and take note of what you like.

Publicize your blog. You’ll want to make sure you’re “pinging” the major weblog tracking sites. Most of the blogging services handle this automatically, as do the offline blogging clients. Don’t worry if you don’t understand this process. You don’t need to understand it to use it. (Here's a simple explanation.) Basically, your service or software will send a notification to the tracking sites to alert them that you have posted a new entry. If your software doesn’t allow this, you might want to make use of pingomatic. This is a super-easy service that will ping fourteen different services. All you have to do is enter your blog address whenever you post a new entry. If you want to manually enter a comprehensive list of ping services, here’s a list to get you started.

Write regularly. This is the best advice I could give you for building readership. If people like what you write, they will come back. However, if there’s nothing new to read, they will eventually lose interest. So, the more regularly you post something, the more your readership will grow. I suggest you schedule time to write. It won’t happen on it’s own. At some point, it comes down to making a commitment and sticking to it.

Finally, I would suggest that you be patient with yourself. Writing is like anything else. The more you do it, the better you get. If you have a little talent, and stick with it, you’ll eventually get into the rhythm and joy of it.
